We’ve had some good times, right? We’ve been having fun together, for what? At least 18 years now. Remember when we discovered karaoke? Remember when we branched out from Backstreet Boys and dc Talk and discovered fun music? Remember screaming Linkin Park lyrics with Kristi in the front seat of her Powder-blue Celica?

Yeah, those were good times.

And then we had a Boyfriend who introduced us to even better music, like Modest Mouse and Gogol Bordello and we started wishing we knew how to play the accordion because hot damn that is freaking amazing music, and then someone gave us a Journey CD and we memorized all of the words to Separate Ways (Worlds Apart) because it is the most amazing song we had ever heard in the entire world?

So, my taste in music. We’ve come to this point. We’re growing up. And I think we can, with some work, grow up together, but, like I said, we’re growing up, and listening to Grown Up music, and giving David Bowie a chance (even though his music makes us dizzy sometimes) and realizing that the screechy guitar music Dad has always listened to is actually pretty cool.

But, really, my taste in music.

Please, I don’t want to leave you, my taste in music. We’re going to have to figure this out. She just doesn’t fit in between The White Stripes and Nine Inch Nails and Franz Ferdinand. I think that if we’re going to stay together, she’s going to have to go.
