I didn't gain mild control of my hair for a very long time-- it's thick and very curly and coarse (I think of it as "ethnic" hair, ever since my mother declared it, dragged me to a Boston Beauty in an ethnic neighborhood, and the woman recommended a shampoo for "women of color"). Needless to say, I hate summer, and I can totally relate to walking up looking like an electrified sheep. I agree with you and Amanda.
