Things I am adoring this week:

Vintage suitcases
Mom and I were wandering around Goodwill yesterday (best place everrrr) and found a GORGEOUS vintage suitcase for $40. That we didn’t buy. We’re going back tomorrow morning in the hopes that it’s still there… I’m desperately wanting it. Vintage suitcases are so pretty and are great storage items. (Or so they say!) I just like looking at them on etsy.
Here are a few that I’ve bookmarked on my Etsy wanderings.

Maru and his new box
If you don’t know already about Maru, he’s a cat who lives in Japan and likes boxes. He really, really, really likes boxes. This video of Maru with a jumbo-sized box has kept me giggling all day. I’m not even lying, I’ve watched this video four times today. And will watch it twice tomorrow.

vintage owl things
I’m very picky about the owls I collect, but this week I can’t stop searching etsy for vintage owl goodies. It’s ridiculous! My favourite owl is this little guy that my Aunt and Uncle from Australia left for me as a good-bye gift. I have no idea where he came from (though as they are champion thrift-store shoppers, I have my guesses…) and am dreaming to find another one. Etsy really is the place online to look, no? So far I have found some cool things, but mostly really interesting conversation pieces. Dunno if I’d ever actually buy myself this, but it sure is fun to marvel at.

The Stylish Geek’s purple hair
I know, I know, the drawing is blue, but I couldn’t find my purple marker. I am currently completely obsessed with Anna’s newly-dyed purple hair. How fabulous is that? It makes me wish I worked a job that would allow me to dye my hair purple on a whim to match my outfit!
I think I first discovered these cookies via either ffffound! or the ampersand and have been dying to try them ever since. Luckily for me, we’re going to be featuring them in the coffee shop I work at soon, and I am salivating to taste (and, er, maybe to photograph) the lovely ampersand printed into these cookies.

drawing letters in 3-d
I was challenged to draw the letter “R” in 3-D at work today by Winona and her younger brother, Bob, and I think I won? Or passed, I’m not sure which word is more appropriate. This term is amazing because I don’t have a lecture class, but this term is sucking because I don’t have the 2 hours a day devoted to doodling in my sketchbook. Just drawing the letter “R” in 3-D made my fingers itch to start writing and drawing again. Must remedy this, stat.
